Features

Infinity-corrected optics • Large 20mm eyepiece field diameter • High eyepoint eyepieces with soft rubber eyecups • Plan achromatic objectives produce an image in which nearly 100% of the field is in focus simultaneously • Koehler illumination provides uniform brightness and eliminates glare • Brightfield and Darkfield stops on phase contrast condensers • Advanced ergonomics

Model 1333PHi
Model 1333PHi has a trinocular port, ideal for outfitting a camera system. Also take a look at the base of the microscope; the low focusing controls alleviate wrist strain for the user.

What’s the difference between Brightfield and Phase Contrast?

Brightfield refers to the traditional transmitted light microscopy where the light is directed through the sample and then to the user's eye. Contrast in the sample is Brightfieldobtained by using a number of different techniques including staining and light intensity adjustment. The sample is seen as a darkened or colored structure against a white (bright) background or field.

Phase ContrastPhase contrast is a lighting configuration designed to induce contrast into a sample without staining. This makes it possible to view the colorless components of living cells and bacteria. Phase contrast uses a series of "light baffles" to take advantage of refractive differences in the sample structures. It's worth noting that all the phase contrast models in the 1300 series are capable of phase contrast, brightfield, and darkfield illumination.
